Judging
An independent panel of internationally recognized and expert judges representing the major food and beverage industry sectors will determine the winners of the Gulfood Awards. The judges will bring their extensive knowledge, enthusiasm and expertise to the judging debate ensuring the product or service which the panel agrees is truly outstanding and worthy of receiving the ultimate accolade, a Gulfood Award.
The panel is carefully selected to ensure the Awards judging process is fair and objective. The judges are bound by a strict confidentiality agreement and are required to declare any conflict of interest in entries over which they deliberate and to stand aside from deliberations concerning those entries. The integrity of this process lies at the very heart of all that we do.

Judging Process
A comprehensive judging process has been put together to decide worthy winners of the Gulfood Awards for 2012.
After the closing date for submissions, 5pm, Thursday 19 January, 2012, all nominations will be collected and reviewed by our international panel of judges. The judges will independently evaluate each entry and use the published criteria for each Award category to score each nomination. The judges will then submit their individual scores which are collated and a shortlist created of the top five entries in each category. This ensures complete neutrality, transparency and professionalism in the judging process.
The judges will then meet and deliberate each of the shortlisted nominations and then select a winner for each category. Each Award winner will be decided by a consensus among the judges and no correspondence will be entered into by outside parties. Judging will be based on the strength of the submissions and according to the Award key criteria.
For shortlisted submissions in the Brand and Product Awards, Health and Ingredients Awards and Packaging Awards categories, there will be a product tasting / sampling session to determine the Award winners.
The Chairperson of the judging panel reserves the right to cast any deciding vote, should the need arise. The judges’ decision is final and neither the organizers nor the judging panel will enter into any correspondence about the results.
Winners will be announced only on the night of the Gulfood Awards ceremony itself which takes place on Sunday 19th February, 2012 at the Al Multaqua Ballroom, Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Judging Criteria
Each entry will be scored by the judges using a simple scoring system based on the criteria for each Award.
Confidentiality
We recognize and respect the sensitive nature of the information submitted in the entries. Entries are not disclosed or discussed outside the judging process. We do not publish the names of companies, organizations or individuals that have not won an Award, nor will we reproduce any information from your entry. Therefore if you enter the Awards, but are not successful, this will remain confidential.
In addition, entrants may mark any commercially sensitive information contained in their entry as ‘not for publication’.
All entries and supporting material will be destroyed after the Awards presentation.
The organizers reserve the right to use information contained in the winning entries (apart from contact details and any content marked not for publication) for subsequent publicity, promotions and other activities relating to the Awards.
