URUGUAY PRESENTS ITS SUPERIOR QUALITY FOODS AT GULFOOD
Uruguay’s presence at the Gulfood agri-food fair is anchored by its country stand, with additional representation from many of the leading companies in the sector, such as Forocom and Ururice (rice), Tea Please (tea blends), F. Pache S.A. (cocoa), EXA - Food Agent (meat), Colonial (dairy products), and Miel del Uruguay - ILLA- Mundial (honey). Conaprole (dairy products) and the National Meat Institute (INAC, present in the "Meat & Poultry" hall) will also be present at the event to further the country’s trade goals. Known for both quality and safety, Uruguay is one of the most highly valued food producers in the world. The combination of optimal natural conditions for food production, the application of state-of-the-art technologies, and access to markets with the highest of global standards make Uruguay an ideal location for the production of agroindustrial goods, poised to continue increasing the supply of its products on the international market. The prestige enjoyed by Uruguayan products has opened the doors to the world's most demanding markets. More than half of the country’s exports are made up of food items, a demonstration both of the local importance of the sector and global confidence in Uruguayan goods. The country’s products are currently on tables in more than 150 countries, from the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada, to Italy, Spain, Germany, and China. Uruguay’s historical reputation for quality meat products is backed by production systems under natural conditions, free from hormones and antibiotics. Furthermore, a legally-mandated, innovative traceability system now over a decade old, allows the country’s producers to guarantee the safety of their products and provide detailed information on the production process from farm to table. Other globally-recognized food products from the country include dairy products, rice, and soybeans. Poultry meat, honey, and citrus fruits also have geo-referencing systems to ensure safety and quality.
