CLOVES
Cloves (Syzygium aromaticum L.) Cloves were traded by Arabs in the Middle ages but in the 15th century the Portuguese took over the trade. Cloves are mainly grown in mid-country wet zones of Sri Lanka, especially in Kandy, Kegalle & Matale.
