Carob trees have been grown in Cyprus since antiquity. They were known all over the world for their top quality and were once called the "black gold" of Cyprus. They still grow wild all over the island. Every September ripe carobs are hand harvested and the precious carob pots are transported to our workshop. There they are sorted. The best will be milled for Carob Syrup production or finely ground for Carob powder production. Carob Syrup: Totally natural. We produce it ourselves in our workshop, ensuring it is delicious, and full of healthy nutrients. Rich in necessary minerals and phytonutrients beneficial to the digestive system. Free from caffeine and theobromine (found in cocoa) and low in fat. Carob powder: Pure Carob powder, from wild growing Cyprus Carob trees. Ground fresh and lightly roasted to preserve flavor and, most importantly, nutritional value. Rich in necessary minerals and high-quality edible fibre, beneficial to the digestive system. Free from caffeine and theobromine (found in cocoa) so it can be enjoyed by your pet too! Carob balsamic vinegar: A one of its kind vinegar with unique flavor. Produced by fermenting our authentic Carob syrup together with wine vinegar. It is aged for a minimum of 2 years in wooden casks to refine its distinctive flavour and aroma! SUGGESTIONS OF USE: Carob Syrup: Use it to add flavour, sweetness and beneficial nutrients to your porridge, smoothies, yogurt, salad dressings. Delicious in hot or cold beverages. Carob powder: In addition to the above you can use in baking and also to create unique rich in fiber energy bars. Carob balsamic vinegar: Use in salads and over boiled or grilled vegetables.
