Ceylon cloves are used for culinary, pharmaceutical and cosmetics purposes and bring numerous health benefits.   Clove is best cultivated in lands elevated 1000m above sea level and an average rainfall of 1,7500 – 2,500 per annum.   The harvested unopened buds are sun-dried until dark brown. Cleaning is required to remove excess dirt and dust after the cloves are graded according to size, colour and quality.
