Individual Cup Desserts - Qantas Airline
The Individual portion controlled range of 'cup desserts' that were developed for Qantas Airline in 2016 represent a unique value offering made by hand and from Scratch locally in Australia. Products were manufactured and shipped frozen for all International Economy meals departing Australia.The range that was elected by Qantas Culinary team included; Apple Crumble, Lemon Meringue, Bread and Butter Pudding, Eton Mess and and Indigenous Native Wild Rosella Lamington Cup. Products were 90-100g portion controll, in Frozen Supply chain with 12 months shelf life. This unique added value dessert represented a true innovation as multi layered 'dessert' option for the economy cabin in comparison with previous one-demensional slab cakes or ice creams. Operationally it allowed caterers to simply load product for inflight service without the use of ancilary items/products such as dry ice or the additional labour at catering centres associated with slab cakes.
