Greece is a place with unique traits in terms of soil relief and plant biodiversity. Within a few kilometers, one can find coastal, lowland, semi-mountainous, mountainous and alpine areas. The consequence of this geographical peculiarity is the diversity of climate and microclimate of many areas, even the ones close to each other, and the existence of 430 habitats. The result of these data and the abundant sunshine is the rich biodiversity of Greece in terms of plant species, ranking it with 6308 species and subspecies among the richest in the world. Regarding these plants, 936 are endemic, which means that they do not exist naturally anywhere else in the world. In percentages: 15% of Greek plants are endemic! So, everyone can easily understand that Greek honey is the cooperative result of bees and one of the richest flora in the world, with dozens of aromatic - medicinal plants and herbs.
