Ahmer Ashraf is a co-founder of SavFood, a Dutch startup that has worked on the valorisation of several food-waste streams particularly potato peels waste. SavFood performs R&D to create value from these waste streams and within that, the identification of food safety and traceability risks in these surplus and by-product supply chains. His work focuses on transforming food loss into safe, high-value applications by applying systems analysis, data, and cross-sector collaboration. Ahmer is also associated with Vegan Wagen, supporting sustainable, plant-based food systems and circular economy models. He brings a practical perspective on how use of basic technology can strengthen food safety while enabling innovation in circular food systems.
