The Thabet Group, one of the largest business houses in Yemen owes its origin to the enterprise of Mr Abdo Thabet who in 1925, started a business of bunkering ships in Aden. This company rapidly developed into a conglomerate with major activities in stevedoring, clearing and forwarding service. Responsibility for growing the business was taken over from their father in 1956 by the next generation Thabet brothers. The Thabet brothers established their business base at Hodeidah in 1969.
