Amazonbai is a cooperative formed by açaí producers from the Bailique Archipelago, the Beira Amazonas territory, and Indigenous Lands located in the municipalities of Macapá, Itaubal, and Pedra Branca do Amapari, in the state of Amapá, in the Brazilian Amazon. Founded in 2017, after the certification of community-based forest management of native açaí groves, the cooperative was created to strengthen the commercialization of açaí under fair, sustainable, and transparent conditions.
Our primary focus is promoting the socioeconomic development of riverside and traditional agro-extractive communities at the mouth of the Amazon River. Through responsible forest management, income generation, and collective organization, Amazonbai contributes to improved livelihoods, local empowerment, and environmental preservation. By supplying high-quality organic açaí, the cooperative combines biodiversity conservation with community leadership, ensuring a sustainable, inclusive, and resilient production chain aligned with international market standards.
