Carpigiani Gelato University was founded in 2003 as the educational division of Carpigiani, with the mission of spreading the culture of Italian artisan gelato worldwide. Today, it is internationally recognized as a leading incubator for successful gelato entrepreneurs. The headquarters are located in Anzola dell’Emilia (Bologna), and the school boasts 37 satellite campuses in all 5 continents. In 2024-2025, more than 6,000 students worldwide attended over 400 courses offered in 13 languages across the globe. Launched in September 2013, the “Become a Gelatiere” training program — featuring an increased emphasis on hands-on practice — continues to attract a growing number of students each year who choose to complete the three-week course: Basic, Intermediate, Advanced. In October 2023, it launched the new “Gelato Master Course”, designed to explore the physical characteristics of gelato in depth, with a particular focus on the key aspects involved in formulating dedicated bases and concentrated sauces.
