The Colombian Federation of Cattle Ranchers (FEDEGÁN), established in 1963, is the main nonprofit trade organization in Colombia’s livestock sector. FEDEGÁN represents cattle producers nationwide, advocating for their rights, leading sustainable development, and supporting competitiveness in the national and international markets. The organization actively fosters technical modernization, coordinates national vaccination against foot-and-mouth disease, and facilitates public-private dialogue for improved sectoral policies. FEDEGÁN manages the National Livestock Fund (FNG) and the FEP (Fondo de Estabilización de Precios de la Leche y sus Derivados), in accordance with Law 395/1997 and Decree 1187/1999, channeling resources for price stability, compensation, and sectoral innovation. FEDEGÁN is a key actor in sustainable cattle ranching, promoting carbon neutrality, biodiversity conservation, and rural welfare, and actively participating in environmental markets.
