Sinaloa is a Mexican agricultural powerhouse, a national leader in the production of grains and vegetables, standing out for its large irrigated area and favorable climate, producing massive quantities of corn (especially white for tortillas), tomatoes, green chilies, cucumbers, beans, and chickpeas, being a fundamental pillar of the state and national economy, and supplying a significant part of the country's basic foods, such as one out of every five tortillas consumed in Mexico.
