GRÓJEC has been involved in fruit growing since as early as the Middle Ages and the County of Grójec and its neighbouring counties have developed the cultivation of apples on an industrial scale, globally. The companies serving this sector of agriculture kept pace with fruit growers, building the necessary infrastructure to support and handle fruit growing holdings. Consequently, the “Largest Orchard in Europe” as it is commonly known, came into being in southern Mazovia. The centuries-old tradition of apple tree cultivation concentrated in this area led to it being strongly associated with apples.
