The Kerman Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (KCCIMA) is one of Iran’s oldest chambers, representing entrepreneurs and companies active in trade, industry, mining, agriculture and animal husbandry, primarily from the private sector. Kerman’s strategic position along historic trade routes connecting the Indian Subcontinent, China, East Asia, the Persian Gulf and the Mediterranean has given it a long-standing commercial tradition. Today, the private sector plays a leading economic role in the province. Apart from a few major state-owned complexes—such as the Sarcheshmeh Copper Mines, Golgohar Iron Ore Mines and the coal mines in Zarand and Ravar, which are slated for privatization through the Tehran Stock Exchange—the region’s income and wealth creation come predominantly from private enterprise. KCCIMA serves as a central driver of economic development, investment attraction and partnership building. It operates eight specialized commissions covering mining, agriculture, industry, domestic trade, export promotion, tourism, handicrafts, infrastructure and investment.
