Macavation produces macadamia kernel, macadamia nut oils, and macadamia protein powder and protein crispies across two facilities The first facility processes nut-in-shell (NIS) from large growers and processing plants, grading and vacuum-packing them into various kernel sizes for use in confectionery. The second facility cold-presses macadamia kernel into macadamia oil and protein powder. Macadamia oil is cold-pressed into extra-virgin and crude-cosmetic, determined by the kernel grade and free fatty acid content, supplying the food and cosmetic industries. The protein powder is a fine macadamia flour, sieved to below 200 μm ideal for plant-based protein products due to its low oil content (under 12%), high protein (32% by volume), and complete amino acid profile.
