The National Horticulture Board (NHB) was set up by Government of India in 1984 as an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India. Headquartered in Gurugram, it operates under the Societies Registration Act. NHB’s core mandate focuses on attracting quality investments, minimizing perishable produce wastage, improving shelf life, facilitating value addition, driving diversification and commercialization in horticulture, creating employment opportunities, and boosting farmers’ incomes to generate exportable surpluses.
