The Cashew Export Promotion Council of India was established by the Government of India in the year 1955, with the active co-operation of the cashew processing industry with the object of promoting exports of cashew kernels, cashew nut shell liquid and allied products from India. By its very set-up, the Council provides the necessary institutional framework for performing the different functions that serve to intensify and promote exports of cashew kernels, cashew nut shell liquid and allied products.The CEPC Laboratory and Research Institute (subsidiary division) at Kollam serves the food processing industry in general and cashew processing industry in particular in analyzing, testing, training and rendering advice on technical matters. The Laboratory has NABL accreditation for chemical and biological analysis of food, agricultural products and water .
