Imagine everything that Brazilian family farming can produce, from North to South, from diverse types of grains to unique Amazonian products, with culinary treasures and flavors found only in Brazil, all represented by a single institution.
UNICAFES is a non-profit national association representing family farming and solidarity economy cooperatives across Brazil. Founded in 2005, the organization operates in 21 Brazilian states and brings together a network of approximately 1,500 cooperatives, involving more than one million family farming households.
UNICAFES works to strengthen cooperative enterprises through institutional representation, capacity building, policy advocacy, and support for inclusive and sustainable development. Its activities cover food production, commercialization, credit, labor, and rural infrastructure.
Guided by principles of social inclusion, sustainability, democratic governance, gender equality, and youth empowerment, UNICAFES collaborates with national and international partners and promotes initiatives that connect Brazilian cooperative products to domestic and global markets.
