NORTH ATLANTIC HORSE MACKEREL
Also known as jurel in Spanish, it has a wide body, sharp mouth and large eyes, small scales and a lateral line in the shape of an “s”. It is greenish blue except for the belly, with silvery or white tones and small rounded scales that are easily removed. The atlantic horse mackerel can reach 35 cm in length, lives on sandy bottoms between 100 and 200 metres deep, approaching the surface at night.This tasty oily fish is best consumed between April and October.
