Brown sugar is the rawest, darkest and moistest of the various types of sugar, with a higher content of cane molasses. It has a brown or golden color, this hue is due to the fact that it has not undergone the refining process, which preserves vitamins and minerals. Although its characteristic flavor is stronger because it preserves the cane molasses, brown sugar can be used in the same way as organic sugar.
