A Time Out Food Market is set to open in Downtown Dubai next year with 17 local restaurants
A new food market featuring a number of the city’s favourite home-grown restaurants is set to open in Dubai next year.
The Time Out Food Market will open in Downtown Dubai’s Souk Al Bahar and feature 17 different vendors serving up popular dishes.
The market is a popular staple in a number of cities across the world, including Lisbon, Miami, New York, Boston, Montreal and Chicago, and aims to offer a diverse range of local flavours in a casual and social environment. The launch of the Dubai market will mark its first venue in the Middle East.
Opening in the first quarter of 2021, some of the venues involved in the project have now been released.
Diners can expect to choose from the likes of popular burger joint Pickl, Indian fusion concept Masti, modern Asian eatery BB Social, European staples from folly by Nick & Scott, local favourite Vietnamese Foodies, New York-inspired pizza from Pitfire and sweet treats from dessert specialists Brix, washed down with craft coffee from roastery Nightjar. More vendors will be announced in the coming months.
The market will overlook Burj Lake and Dubai’s famous fountains, and will be in close walking distance to The Dubai Mall. It will be designed taking safety measures into place, though organisers said the "fun atmosphere" the concept was known for would not be compromised.
“We are very proud to unveil the first line-up of chefs and restaurateurs, which reads like the who’s who of Dubai’s home-grown culinary talent," said Didier Souillat, chief executive of Time Out Market Dubai.
