Irene Madeje Mlola is a distinguished Tanzanian leader with over 24 years of experience spanning finance, agriculture, telecommunications, digital services, and development sectors. Her career reflects a commitment to transformative initiatives and strategic leadership.

In December 2023, Irene was appointed as the Director General of the Cereals and Other Produce Regulatory Authority (COPRA), marking a significant milestone in Tanzania's agricultural sector. Her role involves establishing and operationalizing COPRA to drive agricultural transformation, ensure food security, and enhance the competitiveness of agricultural commodities. Beyond her executive roles, Irene serves on several boards, including:
 Exim Bank Tanzania: Board Member and Chair of the Credit Committee.
 Tanzania Cooperative Development Commission (TCDC): Vice Chairperson.
 TTCL Pesa Limited: Board Member.
 Tanzania Oxygen Gases Limited (TOL):
Her strategic negotiations have secured over US$100 million in funding for development initiatives, underscoring her capability in fostering multisector partnerships.

Irene is a passionate advocate for women's financial inclusion and youth empowerment in Tanzania. Her leadership has earned her recognition from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) as one of Tanzania's leading women in finance. Additionally, she received the 2020 Women in Management Africa Award (WIMA).
