Ms. Meifan Shi is a seasoned global investor and technology executive with 20+ years of experience driving capital formation, strategic growth, and value creation across technology-enabled platforms. She is Co-Managing Partner, Chief Strategy Officer, and Executive Committee Chair of Waterpoint Lane, a venture capital firm backing category-defining companies at the intersection of food, health, and wellness.
Since co-founding Waterpoint Lane’s inaugural fund in 2023, Ms. Shi has led the firm’s investment thesis, portfolio construction, and governance model, overseeing disciplined capital deployment, risk management, and long-term value creation. She partners closely with founders and boards to scale businesses through strategic positioning, operational rigor, and AI-driven transformation. She currently serves as Board Observer to Heritable Ag, a Google X spinout using AI and computational genomics to “program” crops for higher yields, stronger climate resilience, and faster breeding cycles, and Starfish, an AI driven blockchain traceability platform that brings end to end transparency and real time intelligence to global supply chains.
Previously, Ms. Shi co-founded the private equity business at Amazon Web Services, building a global institutional investor ecosystem representing over $800 billion in AUM and generating $50 million in incremental revenue in under two years. Earlier roles include senior leadership positions at T-Mobile and BlackBerry, driving international expansion and go-to-market strategy.
Ms. Shi holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
