Amit Mehta
- 18 years of diversified experience in corporate finance, investments, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, debt and equity raising etc. - Chartered Accountant and BCom (Hons) from India.
- Started career with BPCL, an oil PSU based in India in 2005.
- Moved to Morgan Stanley Investment Banking team in 2007 working in Mumbai and London
- Moved to Standard Chartered Bank in UAE in 2010 to be part of their Mergers and Acquisitions team
- Then in 2014 was hired by HE Mohamed Alabbar (Chairman of Emaar) to set-up family office for him and manage and invest his personal investments. Monitored several existing assets and acquired several companies worth more than US$5bn and generated top quartile returns from investments. In addition to new investments, extensively involved in capital allocation, strategy and monitoring of existing investment portfolio.
- In 2020 moved to Barakat Group as the Group CFO and since then actively involved in the business transformation and growth of the business - Avid reader with passion for investments and equity market.
