About Chef

Chef Frankie Yang Tao, originally from Nanjing in East China, has honed his culinary skills in traditional Chinese cuisine for over 16 years. Since his arrival in Dubai in 2006, he swiftly integrated into the culinary scene, contributing his talents and mastering dim sum at some of the city’s most renowned restaurants.

Starting his Dubai journey in a 5-star resort, Chef Frankie progressed from Sous Chef to Chef de Cuisine in 2014, showcasing his deep understanding of Cantonese cuisine with an emphasis on premium ingredients and traditional techniques. He then joined the pre-opening team of a high-end restaurant for two years before taking on the role of Chef de Cuisine at another popular Asian venue within a prestigious hotel chain, where he continued to innovate with flavors inspired by Hong Kong's vibrant culinary landscape.

In August 2021, Chef Frankie assumed the role of Executive Chef for the highly anticipated Middle East debut of Mott 32. Leading the culinary team, Mott 32 Dubai quickly gained recognition, earning prestigious accolades such as the Toque Award in Gault & Millau 2023 and a spot in The Michelin Guide Dubai 2023 & 2024. Chef Frankie's expertise artfully captures the authentic essence of traditional Chinese cuisine, infusing it with a fresh and innovative twist at Mott 32 Dubai, located on the 73rd floor of Address JBR, rapidly becoming an iconic destination for contemporary Cantonese dining.
