PEETER PIHEL
One thing that has probably shaped chef Peeter Pihel and his views on the world and his work is his roots. It's a privilege having been born and raised on an island. It's a way of life, which reflects in his cooking as well. When the resources and produce are scarce, he has to be creative - this is what motivates and makes him create something new and possibly better.
For a big part of his working life, chef Peeter Pihel has led the kitchen of Pädaste Manor, that has been rewarded the best restaurant in Estonia in four consecutive years. After that journey, he moved on to Fäviken Magasinet – one of the best restaurants in Sweden. Deep into the wild forest of northern Sweden, there’s an amazing place unlike anything else. Fäviken Magasinet was a two Michelin-starred restaurant situated in the middle of nowhere. After 3.5 years, he is now back in his homeland again and running the first Green Michelin-starred restaurant in Estonia called Fotografiska Tallinn– they use every part of every ingredient- they call it their cooking style as a sustainable pleasure.
After years of working in different kitchens with different teams, chef Peeter Pihel finds still great pleasure in it - it's a magical world, where surprises and discovering never ends.
